The Process
We want you to be completely informed and comfortable when you show up for your headshot session. The last thing we want is your brain spinning with questions when you should be relaxed and ready for a fun headshot experience. So we designed this easy to understand process page. BEFORE THE SHOOT:
1. You’ve researched several photographers and chose Zampano Photography to handle your headshot needs. Awesome! You couldn’t have made a wiser choice. :)
2. The next step is to choose a package. We have one, two or three look packages available. If you’re new to the acting industry, two looks is usually all you need, a theatrical look and a commercial look. If you just want a simple update, or if this is a corporate headshot session, one look will do just fine. Three looks is for the veteran actor, the actor that knows what roles she excels in, maybe it’s the lawyer, the mom or the girl next door. The added look is the look you know you'll nail when the role comes up for audition. Either way, make the decision based on your needs, or give us a ring and we’ll help you decide.
3. You’ve read our FAQ section here and this process page. You’ve called us with questions, emailed us your previous headshot to look at and feel confident you made the right decision. The next step is deciding if you want make-up or not. For our thoughts on make-up, visit our make-up page here.
4. Now all you need to do is pay your deposit here and then give us a call or email us to schedule your session. It’s that easy! Paypal is real easy to set-up by the way and it’s free, we prefer you send the deposit that way, however if you want to send us a check in the mail, that’s fine to. Just be sure to keep in mind that we can’t book you until the check clears. Email us for the address to send the check to, it’s not our studio address.
5. After you’ve been scheduled be sure to take care of yourself right up to the day of your session. Be sure to eat healthy, drink lots of water and get in some exercise when you can. It’s important to have a healthy mind, body and spirit when you arrive. Be sure to get lots of sleep the night before your session.
6. The next step is driving to our studio, which is located near USC. The address is here. It is very important that you arrive on time, so please take traffic into consideration. We are near the 10 and 110 split so leave a little early! Parking isn’t always easy so be prepared to spend a couple extra minutes finding an open spot close by. One note, if you are more than 15 minutes late we may have to reschedule, be prepared for that if you are this late.
DURING THE SHOOT:
7. If you have booked our make-up artist be sure to arrive with a clean (smiling) face. If not, please arrive camera ready, with make-up and your first outfit already on and ready to go! Please avoid white, logos and busy patterns. This is mucho importante’! The camera does not like white, logos or busy patterns. It loves bold colors like blue, red, green, brown or even pink. It gets very sad when you have pastels on too, so skip those ;) Here’s the best idea ever, bring several options to choose from! Bring your entire wardrobe if you have too, we’ll pick out the look that best suits your needs together.
8. Now we get down to the rock and roll! You’ve got your make-up on, your outfit is looking sharp and you’ve got the biggest smile ever on your face after walking into the studio and seeing how awesome it is, and how awesome we are (of course)!
Let’s start shooting, shall we?
This is the easy part, just be yourself! Have a good time, we’ll be moving around the studio finding the right spots to hang out in and shoot. Be sure to see our FAQ here which has some great preparation tips. We shoot with a very organic, fluid style. Nothing is cookie-cutter here. We keep shooting until we get it right! You’ll be butter in our hands after a few minutes because we're so cool and easy to get along with, so those nerves will be long gone. You’ll see, we’re just really awesome guys (so we tell each other).
9. After we've finished you’ll be so excited that you’ll want to run out of the studio and dance for joy! But wait, don’t forget to pay us. That’s right, here comes the tough part, but considering our rates are super affordable, this should be a piece of cake. I made this its own number because this is when you say, wow, I should be paying you sooo much more (remember to say that, it's number 9)
10. You’ve already paid the deposit so now it’s time to pay the remaining balance. We only accept cash or check. We do not accept credit cards. You must pay-in-full at this time, which means the remaining balance after your deposit is now due. There are no exceptions, this is the industry standard. Photographers are paid after they render their services and we just rendered you completely stoked on your headshot experience. Thanks for understanding, we’re starving artists too!
AFTER THE SHOOT:
11. Jump in your car, go celebrate and pile the food on to make up for all that dieting you’ve been doing up to the shoot, it’s party time! When you wake up after stuffing yourself for the last 72 hours you’ll be ready to see your headshot session! 72 hours is how long it takes us to process your session. We can make certain exceptions with processing time if you need it the next day, but expect a small fee.
12. Check your email. You will have an email and link from Argentum Photo Lab, our printer of choice. In that link will be your free online proofs of all shots taken. We will have included a couple touch-ups (on the house) but you also get to choose one image per look that you would like touched up, so just email us the number located under that image and we'll touch it up for you! You can share your online proofs with your friends, family or agent. This is when you freak-out and write us a million thank you emails (seriously, this makes us feel great) because your session far exceeds your wildest dreams! Please note, we will never sell your images or distribute them. We may use one or two for promotional purposes on our website but that's it.
13. Now all you have to do is head on down to Argentum in Hollywood, pick up your free CD of all images and do what you need to do! We have some tips for what to do after you get your headshots printed here. Get some prints done while your there if you’d like. Argentum is an excellent lab and their quality and prices are awesome (just like us).
